Calling for New Jubilee Vision and Pilgrimage of Hope: A Strategic Plan for Renewing Family Ministry
This Graced Moment in history presents us with an era unlike many before. We have a choice to make: to observe from a distance or to become personally involved and act with enlightened Vision. Pope Francis also calls us to discern strategically and to serve in a new Jubilee Way by becoming more alive with Hope through the Gospel Way of Living.
Therefore, we must question more deeply, see more surely and love more than ever before in this Unique Moment of Jubilee! With this Vision in mind these five steps lie before us:
1. Discover: At this Jubilee Moment to Discover God’s Invitation
2. Explore: Prayerfully Join with Others to Explore God’s Plan Touching Our Lives
3. Encounter and Envision: As a Pilgrim People to Behold the One Amazing Vision
4. Prepare: Joining as Leaders in a New Initiative to Learn New Skills & Spiritual Resources
5. Accompany: As Collaborators in this New Era to Unite in a New Global Campaign
We embrace the mission of the family:
“The family is thus an agent of pastoral activity through its explicit proclamation of the Gospel and its legacy of varied forms of witness, namely solidarity with the poor, openness to a diversity of people, the protection of creation, moral and material solidarity with other families, including those most in need, commitment to the promotion of the common good and the transformation of unjust social structures, beginning in the territory in which the family lives, through the practice of the corporal and spiritual works of mercy.” All this is an expression of our profound Christian belief in the love of the Father." (Pope Francis, The Joy of Love, 2015, #290)
